Arias Leads Fisher Cats over Patriots
The Fisher Cats got a run in the sixth on a Victor Arias solo home run. They got three more in the eighth, two from an Arias double and one from a Nick Goodwin RBI single. Jackson Wentworth went six scoreless innings, allowing three hits. He walked three and struck out five. Jackson Castillo led Somerset with two hits.
Curve Score Nine to Beat Reading
Altoona scored in six of its eight innings at the plate. Ivan Brethowr led the way at the plate, going 1-2 with two RBI, three runs scored, and two walks. Alex Binelas went 2-4 with an RBI and two runs scored for Reading in the loss.
SeaWolves Score Sixth in the Fourth to Beat Binghamton
In the fourth, Erie hit four home runs with E.J. Exposito and Garrett Pennington each hitting two-run shots while Izaac Pacheco and Thayron Liranzo hit solo shots. Jack Flaherty, in a rehab start, went 5.2 innings, allowing two runs on three hits. He walked one and struck out seven. Jose Ramos and Nick Lorusso drove in the two Binghamton runs.
Baysox Score Four Late to Beat Senators
A Johnathon Thomas two-run homer gave Harrisburg a 2-0 lead. Anderson De Los Santos hit a three-run home run in the sixth to give the Baysox a 3-2 lead and the win. Luis De Leon went five innings, allowing two runs on three hits. He walked one and struck out eight for Chesapeake. Josh Randall went five scoreless innings for Harrisburg. He allowed two hits, walked one, and struck out two.
Flying Squirrels Shut Out RubberDucks
Maui Ahuna hit a solo home run in the fourth, and Jack Payton had a two-run double in the sixth to provide the scoring. Charlie McDaniel went seven scoreless innings. He allowed three hits, didn’t issue a walk, and struck out seven. Dylan DeLucia went four innings for Akron, allowing a run on three hits. He walked one and struck out eight.
Yard Goats Steal a Franchise Record Nine Bases in Win over Sea Dogs
Hartford went down 5-4 in the seventh but scored three runs in the seventh to take a 7-5 lead, and that would be enough for the win. Dyan Jorge singled home a run, he then stole second as GJ Hill stole home to make it 6-5, then Roc Riggio reached on a fielder’s choice, allowing Jorge to score. They stole nine bases in the win, which was a franchise record. Sam Weatherly got the win, going 1.1 innings; he didn’t allow a run or a hit, walked one, and struck out one. Fidel Ulloa made his case for the closer role, picking up his fifth save. Franklin Arias for Portland went 3-5 with an RBI in the loss.
