Boston Red Sox Roster Transactions 08/04/2026

Red Sox Roster Transactions | Inside The Diamonds

The Boston Red Sox, after yesterday’s trade deadline, have three new pieces: catchers Adley Rutschman and Jake Rogers, along with left-handed pitcher Erik Miller and outfielder Eli White. Rutschman is on the injured list, but ahead of tonight’s series opener against the White Sox, the Red Sox will have one of their new pieces activated, as Miller will be on the roster. The corresponding move is that right-handed pitcher Ryan Watson has been designated for assignment.

Connor Wong is getting the start. It’s unclear whether Rogers will serve as the backup tonight, but with Carlos Narváez gone and Adley Rutschman on the injured list, the Red Sox don’t need to make a corresponding move.
