Down on the Farm: Toronto Blue Jays Double-A Affiliate, Throws No-Hitter

Tonight, in the first game of their weekly series against the Binghamton Rumble Ponies, the Fisher Cats threw a combined no-hitter in a 6-0 win. The game was played at Delta Dental Stadium in front of 2,001 fans.

Pitching

Jackson Wentworth made the start for the Fisher Cats. He went 4.2 innings, walking four and striking out four. Nate Garkow was the first one out of the bullpen and got the win. He went 1.1 innings, allowing a walk and striking out one. Irv Carter went two innings, walking four and striking out four. Kai Peterson finished it off, going one inning, allowing a walk.

The Game

The Fisher Cats took the lead in the fourth inning as Jace Bohrofen singled home Jackson Hornung to make it 1-0. Three batters later, Eddie Micheletti Jr. singled home Bohrofen to make it 2-0. The Fisher Cats weren’t done as Cutter Coffey doubled to center field, driving home Sean Keys and Aaron Parker to make it 5-0 New Hampshire. In the bottom of the fifth, Bohrofen homered to make it 5-0. It was the seventh big fly of the season. In the bottom of the seventh, the Fisher Cats tacked on as Bohrofen reached on an error, allowing Ismael Munguia to score, and made it 6-0, which would be the final.

The two teams play tomorrow at 5:05 PM EST at Delta Dental Stadium.
