Alabama Closes Out St. John’s
The Crimson Tide were so close to closing the game out on Sunday, but came back on Monday and shut down the Red Storm. Jason Torres’ Grand Slam was the final tally for Alabama. Zane Adams went 6.1 innings, allowing two runs on six hits. He didn’t issue a walk and struck out eight. It’s the first time since 1999 that Alabama will make the College World Series.
Oklahoma Clinches Final Omaha Berth
Oklahoma led 8-1 when yesterday’s game was delayed. They came back and added four in the sixth and one in the eighth. The five runs for Oklahoma yesterday all came on the long ball as Deiten Lachance and Dasan Harris each hit two-run homers, and Trey Gambill hit a solo homer. Kansas did get another run on a Tyson LeBlanc solo home run, but it wasn’t enough as Oklahoma completed the sweep of Kansas. It’s the first time since 2022 that the Sooners are heading to Omaha, losing to Ole Miss in both games to finish as runners-up. They’ll face Alabama on Saturday afternoon to begin their College World Series.
