Mountaineers Use Long Ball to Beat Mustangs
The West Virginia Mountaineers picked up a 12-2 win on Friday, now one win away from advancing to Omaha. They got a three-run home run from Sean Smith to open the game. They then got a grand slam from Tyrus Hall in the fourth inning.
USC Grand Slam Gives Them Game One
The Trojans were down 5-2 in the sixth inning when Dean Carpentier came up with the bases loaded. Carpentier hit a grand slam to make it 6-5. USC added three more runs in the seventh en route to a 9-5 win. Mason Edwards went three innings, allowing four runs, three earned, on four hits. He walked four and struck out five.
Troy Dominates Little Rock
Jabe Boroff had a big day for Troy as he went 2-4 with a two-run home run and a grand slam. He had six RBI in their 12-2 win.
Ole Miss Takes Game One
The Rebels put up five runs in the middle innings and that was enough to keep fourth overall Auburn at bay. The Tigers did get a run in the ninth to make it a two score game but Ole Miss can advance with a win tomorrow after a 6-4 victory.
