NCAA Baseball Tournament Day 10: Oklahoma, Georgia Send Alabama, Texas to Elimination

The College World Series second day saw the other half of the bracket kick things off.

Sooners Dominate Bama

The Sooners scored in the first inning as Trey Gambill doubled home two runs. In the third, Deiten LaChance grounded into a double play, but it brought home a run. In the sixth, LaChance was at it again, this time with a two-run home run. Oklahoma would tack on four more runs in the eighth to make it 9-0 as they shut out Alabama. Cord Rager went seven scoreless innings, allowing three hits, no walks, and striking out eight. 

Georgia Sends Texas to Eliminate Game

In the bottom of the first, Rylan Lujo hit a two-run home run. The Bulldogs would get two more runs on a wild pitch in the inning. Texas would get on the board in the top of the fifth with an RBI single from Ethan Mendoza. In the seventh, Lujo doubled home a run, and Kenny Ishikawa singled home two more to make it 7-1, and that was the final. Joey Volchko pitched a complete game, allowing one run on four hits. He walked one and struck out 15. Dylan Volantis for Texas went 6.1 innings, allowing seven runs, two earned on four hits, one walk, and nine strikeouts. 

College World Series Sunday Schedule:
