The Cincinnati Reds have started their year 9-7 and are in second place in the National League Central. The Reds lost their last series to the Los Angeles Angels 2-1. They will start their three-game series against the San Francisco Giants on Tuesday. Game one will have a 6:40 PM first pitch. Today is their off day. The Cincinnati Reds have announced they will be sending down one of their slumping outfield bats. They will bring up a hot bat from Triple-A to try and jump start some offense.

Rece Hinds

The Cincinnati Reds are reported to be recalling Rece Hinds from Triple-A today. Hinds played in 15 games last season for the Reds with two home runs, three RBI, and slashed .116/.136/.279. He has played in 13 games for the Louisville Bats in Triple-A this season, slashing .354/.475/.771. Hinds has three doubles, one triple, five home runs, and 16 RBI this season in Triple-A. The outfielder will be given his shot to continue his hot start to the year with the Reds.

Noelvi Marte

The Cincinnati Reds have optioned Noelvi Marte to Triple-A today. He will continue his season with the Louisville Bats. Marte has played in 11 games this season for the Reds. Marte has struggled offensively for the Reds, slashing .138/.194/.138. His strikeouts have become an issue with ten this season and only four hits. Last season, Marte had 14 home runs, 17 doubles, 51 RBI, and hit .263/.300/.448.
