The annual Futures Game was played today and 27 of the Top 100 prospects ranked by ITD took part in the game. The National League won the game 6-1. So what prospects were there, and how did they perform on their showcase?
5.) OF – Dylan Crews – Washington Nationals – AAA
Crews got the start in right field today and he would go 0-3 at the plate but did record a stolen base.
6.) C – Ethan Salas – San Diego Padres – A+
Salas got the start behind the plate going 1-2 with a run scored.
8.) SS – Marcelo Mayer – Boston Red Sox – AA
Mayer would come in as a reserve going 0-2.
10.) SS – Colson Montgomery – Chicago White Sox – AAA
Montgomery got the start at third base recording only a walk in his lone plate appearance.
11.) OF – Max Clark – Detroit Tigers – A
Clark got the start in center field and hit leadoff for the American League going 1-4.
12.) C/1B – Samuel Basallo – Baltimore Orioles – AA
Basallo hit clean up and went 0-1 with a walk.
21.) RHP – Rhett Lowder – Cincinnati Reds – A+
Lowder got the fifth inning and he would throw 14 pitches with ten as strike recording one strikeout.
24.) LHP – Robby Snelling – San Diego Padres – AA
Snelling got the end of the fourth inning going 0.1 innings, he didn’t allow a run or a hit; he also didn’t record a strikeout or a walk.
25.) – Harry Ford – Seattle Mariners – AA
Ford got the start as the designated hitter, in his lone at bat he recorded a walk.
27.) SS/2B – Cole Young – Seattle Mariners – AA
Young got the start at shortstop and hit second going 1-3.
28.) C – Kyle Teel – Boston Red Sox – AA
Teel came in later in the game and made his presence felt going 2-2 with two doubles; he was the only American League prospect to have two hits.
38.) RHP – Chase Dollander – Colorado Rockies – A+
Dollander got the start for the National League going one inning giving up one hit; he walked one and didn’t record a strikeout.
39.) LHP – Noah Schultz – Chicago White Sox – A+
Schultz started the fourth inning and struggled going 0.1 innings giving up three runs on three hits; he walked one and struck out one.
42.) RHP – Noble Meyer – Miami Marlins – A
Meyer got the second innings and he didn’t allow a run or a hit; he walked one and struck out two.
46.) 1B – Xavier Isaac – Tampa Bay Rays – A+
Isaac got the start for the American League and hit sixth going 0-4 with two strikeouts.
47.) 3B – Aidan Miller – Philadelphia Phillies – A
Miller got the start at shortstop and hit eighth for the National League he would go 0-1 with an RBI.
48.) SS/2B – Matt Shaw – Chicago Cubs – AA
Shaw went 0-2 with a strikeouts.
56.) 2B – Termarr Johnson – Pittsburgh Pirates – A+
Johnson got the start at the second base and hit third going 1-2 with a run scored.
59.) 2B – James Triantos – Chicago Cubs – AA
Triantos went 0-1 in his lone at bat of the game.
61.) OF – Justin Crawford – Philadelphia Phillies – A+
Crawford got the start in left field and hit leadoff for the National League going 1-3.
64.) RHP – Bubba Chandler – Pittsburgh Pirates – AA
Chandler closed things out for the National League getting the seventh inning giving up just one hit; he didn’t issue a walk and struck out one.
68.) OF – Spencer Jones – New York Yankees – AA
Jones got the start in right field for the American League and hit fifth going 0-1 with a walk and a run scored.
73 OF/RHP – Bryce Eldridge – San Francisco Giants – A
Eldridge got the start at first base and hit fourth for the National League. He would go 1-2 with a run scored and a strikeout
75.) SS – Sebastian Walcott – Texas Rangers – A+
Walcott got the start at shortstop and hit third for the American League going 0-2.
76.) OF – Druw Jones – Arizona Diamondbacks – A
Jones got the start in center field and hit sixth going 0-1 with three walks and an RBI.
88.) 3B – Cam Collier – Cincinnati Reds – A+
Collier had a day getting the start at third base and hitting seventh. He went 1-2 with a home run and a strikeout. He would take home MVP honors.
89.) OF – Jaison Chourio – Cleveland Guardians – A
Chourio got the start in left field and would hit eighth going 1-2 with an RBI and a strikeout. It was the only run drove in by the American League.
93.) LHP – Thomas White – Miami Marlins – A
White got the start of the fourth inning giving up the only run for the National League on the day going 0.2 innings giving up one run on one hit; he walked three and struck out one.
99 RHP – Brandon Sproat – New York Mets – AA
Sproat has been impressive this season, he got the third inning and didn’t allow an American League hitter to reach base; he didn’t record a strikeout either.
