The Cincinnati Reds have recalled Chase Petty. He will make the start tonight opposite Edward Cabrera. This is game one of their series with the Cubs. Petty made two starts and came in as relief for the Reds last season. He had three losses and a 19.50 ERA during those three appearances. Petty pitched six innings, allowing 14 hits, 13 earned runs, walking eight, and striking out seven. This season in Triple-A, Petty has made six starts with a 2-2 record. He has a 4.38 ERA over 24.2 innings. Petty has struck out 29 while walking 11 this season for the Louisville Bats.
Zach Maxwell
The Cincinnati Reds have optioned Zach Maxwell to Triple-A today. Maxwell will continue his season pitching for the Louisville Bats. He appeared in one game for the Reds during his call-up. Maxwell threw one inning. He allowed three hits and four earned runs. Maxwell walked two batters, gave up two home runs, and struck out one.
