The Cincinnati Reds edged the Guardians 7-6 after a dominant start turned into a bullpen-induced thriller. Starter Andrew Abbott allowed just one run on four hits over 5.0 innings (2 K, 3 BB, 90 pitches) before the bullpen surrendered five runs in the final frames. The victory came in the ninth inning. Tejay Antone earned his first save since 2021. Matt McLain made a spectacular diving stop for the final out.

Second baseman Matt McLain led the offense, going 2-for-3 with a two-run home run, three RBIs, and a walk. McLain forced in the game’s first run with a bases-loaded walk. He extended the lead with a 377-foot blast in the eighth. McLain preserved the win with his defense in the ninth.
