Boston Red Sox Notebook: Red Sox Are Back, Probable Pitchers, and More

The Boston Red Sox are back tonight as they start the second half 46-48, trailing the final playoff spot by a half-game. They’re also ten games back of the Rays for first in the American League East. They’re 29-21 on the road while going 17-27 at home in the first half.

The Red Sox are back with a doubleheader against the Tampa Bay Rays today. The 1:35 PM EST game will be a makeup of their rainout on May 9th. The second game will be at 7:10 PM EST. Jake Bennett gets the ball in game one; the game two starter is yet to be determined. Bennett is 4-3 with a 2.64 ERA, a 0.94 WHIP, and 35 strikeouts in 47.2 innings. In his last three starts, he’s 3-0 with a 1.29 ERA, a 0.71 WHIP, and 13 strikeouts in 21 innings.

The Red Sox have three players named to the DSL All-Star Game, which will take place on Sunday, July 19th at the Tampa Bay Rays academy in Guerra. The DSL Red Sox Red have two players going in infielder Anderber Urbina and outfielder Joskairo Ramirez. The DSL Red Sox Blue will be sending one player, infielder Isaac Velasquez.
