MLB Game Recap

The Red Sox opened the scoring in the third with a Tsung-Che Cheng single, then Ceddanne Rafaela had an RBI double. Anthony Seigler would score on a wild pitch, making it 3-0. Willson Contreras left the game after fouling a ball off his foot and was replaced by Romy Gonzalez. Seigler also left the game after his head hit the shin pad of the White Sox catcher. The Red Sox can’t afford for that to be a serious injury, so all hope is he’s back tomorrow. Boston added to their lead in the fourth as Carlos Narvaez singled home a run, then Cheng once again singled home a run to make it 5-0, which would be the final.

Jake Bennett went seven scoreless innings, allowing four hits. He walked one and struck out four. Greg Weissert and Jovani Moran kept the shutout intact, going two innings without allowing a baserunner. Moran struck out two.

Standout Performer

Tsung-Che Cheng went 2-for-3 with two RBI and a run scored, contributing to three of the Red Sox’s five runs in the win.
