Boston Red Sox Have Three Prospects in Updated Top-100

This morning, MLB Pipeline updated its top-100 prospects. The Boston Red Sox have three players on the list. First is shortstop Franklin Arias, who comes in at eighth. Second is right-handed pitching prospect Anthony Eyanson, who comes in at 56th. Last is outfielder Justin Gonzales, who comes in at 88th. Arias and Eyanson are both at Double-A Portland, while Gonzales is at High-A Greenville.

Arias, this season in 63 games at Double-A Portland, is hitting .329 with a .995 OPS. He has 15 doubles, a triple, 15 home runs, 41 RBI, 40 runs scored, and five stolen bases. He leads the Eastern League in batting average and OPS. He’s tied for fifth in home runs.

Eyanson started the season in Greenville, where in five starts he posted a 0.44 ERA, a 0.49 WHIP, and 34 strikeouts in 20.1 innings. In seven starts at Portland, he’s 2-0 with a 1.48 ERA, a 1.12 WHIP, and 30 strikeouts in 30.1 innings. Between the two, in 12 starts, he has a 1.07 ERA, a 0.86 WHIP, and 64 strikeouts in 50.2 innings.

Gonzales, in 59 games at Greenville, is hitting .261 with a .811 OPS. He has eight doubles, two triples, ten home runs, 34 RBI, and 44 runs scored.
