Today, Adley Rutschman made his Red Sox debut, except it was in Worcester with their Triple-A affiliate as he made his first rehab appearance. Rutschman only played five innings, going 1-2 with a double, two RBI, two runs scored, and two walks. He walked in his first plate appearance and scored on a Romy Gonzalez single. He hit again in the first but ended the inning on a flyout. Rutschman walked in the third. He hit a two-RBI double in the fourth on a line drive to right. He would then score on a Nate Eaton single. Jason Delay replaced Rutschman in the fifth. Defensively, in the first, he threw out a runner trying to steal second.

The Red Sox acquired Rutschman on Monday from the Orioles along with Jake Rogers as Boston sent Anthony Eyanson, Kyson Witherspoot, Carlos Narvaez, Enddy Azocar, and a player to be named later. He will be in the lineup tomorrow as a designated hitter.
