Six International League Players Named to Futures Game Roster

The 2024 Futures Game Roster has been announced. The game will take place on Saturday, July 13th at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas at 4:10 PM EST. Six prospects from the International League will be on the roster with five of the six being ranked in ITD’s Top 100. The six prospects are Brooks Lee from the Minnesota Twins Triple-A affiliate the St. Paul Saints, from the Chicago White Sox Triple-A affiliate the Charlotte Knights Colson Montgomery, from the Atlanta Braves Triple-A affiliate the Gwinnett Stripers Drake Baldwin, from the Chicago Cubs Triple-A affiliate the Iowa Cubs Owen Caissie, and the Washington Nationals Triple-A affiliate the Rochester Red Wings Dylan Crews and James Wood. All but Baldwin are on ITD’s Top 100 for June.

SS – Brooks LeeMinnesota Twins – St. Paul Saints

Lee is the 14th-ranked prospect by ITD. He was drafted with the eighth overall pick in the 2022 MLB Draft. He’s played in 185 games hitting .292 with a .842 OPS; he has 53 doubles, three triples, 26 home runs, 122 RBI, 126 runs scored, 85 walks, and nine stolen bases. This season at Triple-A he’s played in 19 games hitting .333 with a 1.017 OPS; he has five doubles, six home runs, 18 RBI, 19 runs scored, nine walks, and one stolen base.

SS – Colson MontgomeryChicago White Sox – Charlotte Knights

Montgomery is the tenth-ranked prospect by ITD. He was drafted by the White Sox with the 22nd overall pick in the 2021 MLB Draft. He’s played in 257 games in their system hitting .261 with a .808 OPS; he has 50 doubles, six triples, 29 home runs, 123 RBI, 162 runs scored, 163 walks, and nine stolen bases. This season he’s played in 71 games at Triple-A hitting .213 with a .707 OPS; he has 12 doubles, one triple, ten home runs, 32 RBI, 37 runs scored, 40 walks (T-22nd in International League), and six stolen bases.

C – Drake Baldwin – Atlanta Braves – Gwinnett Stripers

Baldwin was drafted by the Braves with the 96th overall pick in the 2022 MLB Draft. In his three seasons, he’s played in 201 games hitting .265 with a .784 OPS; he has 39 doubles, one triple, 23 home runs, 115 RBI, 103 runs scored, 118 walks, and two stolen bases. This season at Triple-A he’s played in 16 games hitting .306 with a .903 OPS; he has two doubles, three home runs, 12 RBI, seven runs scored, and 12 walks.  

OF – Owen CaissieChicago Cubs – Iowa Cubs

Caissie is the 41st-ranked prospect by ITD. In his minor league career, he’s played in 352 games hitting .279 with a .853 OPS; he has 80 doubles, six triples, 48 home runs, 216 RBI, 203 runs scored, 214 walks, and 24 stolen bases. In 2024 with Triple-A he has played in 73 games hitting .283 with a .842 OPS; he has 17 doubles (T-16th in International League), two triples, eight home runs, 45 RBI (T-22nd in International League), 34 runs scored, 46 walks (T-8th in International League), and five stolen bases.

OF – Dylan CrewsWashington Nationals – Rochester Red Wings

Crews is the fifth-ranked prospect by ITD. Crews was drafted by the Nationals second overall last year and in his time in the Nationals system he has played in 98 games hitting .279 with a .799 OPS; he has 23 doubles, three triples, 12 home runs, 74 RBI, 63 runs scored, 18 walks and 18 stolen bases. This season at Triple-A he’s played in 12 games hitting .259 with a .712 OPS; he has three doubles, two home runs, seven RBI, 11 runs scored, two walks, and three stolen bases.

OF – James WoodWashington Nationals – Rochester Red Wings

Wood is the third-ranked prospect by ITD. Wood was acquired by the Nationals in August of 2022. In his minor league career, he’s played in 283 games hitting .302 with a .941 OPS; he has 76 doubles, nine triples, 51 home runs, 212 RBI, 212 runs scored, 168 walks, and 58 stolen bases. At Triple-A this season, he’s played in 52 games hitting .353 (1st in International League) with a 1.058 OPS (1st in International League); he has 16 doubles, ten home runs, 37 RBI, 44 runs scored (T-19th in International League), 40 walks (T-22nd in International League), and ten stolen bases.
