Noelvi Marte was born in Cotui, Dominican Republic, on October 16, 2001. He played over there until 2018.

Marte was Signed as an international free agent on July 2nd, 2018, by the Seattle Mariners, and he was later traded to the Cincinnati Reds in a deal for Luis Castillo.

2020

Marte didn’t play because of COVID cancelling the minor league season; however, in the rankings, he was ranked as the 98th prospect by Baseball America.

2021

Marte was ranked as the 73rd overall prospect entering the season by Baseball America, and he played for Single-A Modesto and High-A affiliate Everett in 107 games combined; he slashed .273/.366/.460 with a .825 OPS; he had 28 doubles, two triples, 17 home runs, 71 RBI, 91 runs scored, 24 stolen bases, and 60 walks. He also played in the Dominican Winter League for the Gigantes, playing in six games, and he slashed .333/.375/.400 with a .775 OPS; he had one double, one RBI, two runs scored, three stolen bases, and one walk.

2022

Marte entered 2022, Baseball America ranked him as the 18th prospect, and he joined the MLB.com rankings, coming in at 11th. He split time between the Mariners and Reds organizations, playing for High-A for both organizations; with the Mariners, he was with Everett, and with the Reds, he was with Dayton. He played in 115 games with a slash line of .279/.371/.458 and an OPS of .829; he also had 23 doubles, 19 Home runs, 68 RBI, 74 runs scored, 23 stolen bases, and 59 walks. He would play in the Arizona Fall League for Glendale, where he played in 21 games and slashed .211/.321/.310 with a .631 OPS; he had one double, two home runs, ten RBI, ten runs scored, one stolen base, and 12 walks.

In 92 games, he combined to slash .279/.358/.454 and an OPS of .812; he had 20 doubles, four triples, 11 home runs, 45 RBI, 69 runs scored, 18 stolen bases, and 43 walks. He also made his big league debut with the Reds, playing in 35 games, slashing .316/.366/.456 with an OPS of .822; he had seven doubles, three home runs, 15 RBI, 15 runs scored, six stolen bases, and eight walks with the big club. He also played for the Dominican Winter League with the Gigantes again, and in four games, he slashed .412/.412/.471 with a .882 OPS; he had one double, three RBI, one run scored, and one stolen base. He also played in the Future’s game, going 0-2 with a stolen base and a run scored.

Future

ITD ranked Marte entering 2024 as the 21st overall prospect and the Reds top-ranked prospect. Marte can break camp with the big club if he can lock up the third base job during the spring. Even if he does somehow start the year in the minors, it won’t be for long; this kid can hit.
