MJ Melendez
The New York Mets have optioned outfielder MJ Melendez to the Syracuse Mets in Triple-A today. Melendez played in four games for the Mets this spring. He had 11 at-bats with four hits, one double, two home runs, five RBI, and two runs scored. Melendez finishes his spring with the Mets with a .364/.364/1.000 slash line. The Mets signed Melendez on February 12 as a free agent. He spent the last seven years playing for the Kansas City Royals. He only played in 23 games last season for the Royals with a .083/.154/.167 slash line.
Christian Scott
The New York Mets have optioned right-handed pitcher Christian Scott to Triple-A. He will finish out his spring there. He will start the year with the Syracuse Mets. Scott pitched in two games for the Mets this spring, recording one loss in six innings of work. He finishes his spring with the Mets with a 4.50 ERA, four walks, eight strikeouts, and a 1.67 WHIP. He missed the entire 2025 season after having Tommy John surgery in September of 2024.
