Cincinnati Reds Roster Transactions | Inside The Diamonds

The Cincinnati Reds visit the Arizona Diamondbacks today in Cactus League play. The Reds are 12-10 this spring while the Diamondbacks are 10-12. Andrew Abbott will start the game for the Reds while Ryne Nelson will take the mound for the Diamondbacks. First pitch will be at 4:10 EST. The Cincinnati Reds will open their regular season. They will host the Boston Red Sox for a three-game series. The series starts on March 26th. Before today’s game, the Cincinnati Reds announced a roster move. They are sending outfielder Blake Dunn to the Triple-A Louisville Bats camp. He will finish out his spring there.

Blake Dunn has been optioned to the Louisville Bats to finish out his spring and start his season in Triple-A. The 27-year-old outfielder has a .136 average through 22 at-bats this spring with the Reds. Dunn has one home run, four RBI, two stolen bases, and a 558 OPS. Dunn played in 24 games for the Cincinnati Reds last season. He had two doubles, one home run, and seven RBI. Dunn had a slash line of .150/.320/.233 with the Reds. He spent the majority of his time playing in Triple-A for the Louisville Bats, playing in 98 games. Dunn had 14 doubles, two triples, seven home runs, and 40 RBI. He had a slash line of .291/.397/.401 for the Louisville Bats last year.
