Ahead of today’s game with the Twins, the Pirates have made a roster move. They are sending veteran infielder Enmanuel Valdez to finish his spring with the Indianapolis Indians in Triple-A.

The team has optioned Enmanuel Valdez to Triple-A today. He will finish his spring training there. He will start the year with the Indianapolis Indians. This spring, he has played in 12 games for the Pittsburgh Pirates. He recorded two hits, one RBI, and five walks. He struck out eight times. Valdez finishes his 2026 Big League spring training with a .077/.226/.077 slash line. Last season, Valdez played in 31 games for the Pirates with a .209/.294/.363 slash line. In 2024, Valdez played for the Boston Red Sox organization, appearing in both Triple-A Worcester and Boston. While with the Worcester Woo Sox in 2024, he played in 50 games. He achieved eight doubles, 11 home runs, and 30 RBI. His slash line was .233/.330/.446.
