The updated Top 100 prospect rankings are out, and they feature a new top pitching prospect. Left-hander Seth Hernandez of the Pittsburgh Pirates previously held that title, but he dropped to seventh overall. Meanwhile, the Seattle Mariners’ Kade Anderson climbed to No. 5 overall and now ranks as baseball’s top pitching prospect.

Anderson this season has made 13 starts, all at Double-A with the Arkansas Travelers. He’s 8-0 with a 1.22 ERA, a 0.71 WHIP, and 99 strikeouts in 66.2 innings. This is his first professional season after Seattle drafted him third overall in last summer’s draft out of LSU. He will likely pitch on Thursday as he looks to become the second pitcher in the minors this season to eclipse 100 strikeouts. Anderson leads the Texas League in wins, ERA, WHIP, and strikeouts; he’s eighth in innings pitched.
Anderson, in two seasons at LSU, made 37 appearances, with 28 of those coming as starts. He went 16-3 with a 3.38 ERA, a 1.16 WHIP, and 239 strikeouts in 157.1 innings. In his final season, he made 19 starts, going 12-1 with a 3.18 ERA, a 1.05 WHIP, and 180 strikeouts in 119 innings. Those stats, combined with his stats at Arkansas, show he hasn’t lost since April 11th 2025, when the Auburn Tigers beat him, scoring six runs, five earned, on six hits in 4.1 innings. So he hasn’t lost a start in 446 days.
