Atlanta Braves Acquire Thomas and Falter From Royals

The Atlanta Braves and Kansas City Royals made a trade this evening, as the Braves are acquiring outfielder Lane Thomas and reliever Bailey Falter. The return to Kansas City is right-handed pitcher Lucas Braun, the Braves’ eighth-ranked prospect, and left-handed pitcher Carter Holton.

Thomas, this season in 96 games, is hitting .230 with a .717 OPS. He has 16 doubles, ten home runs, 37 RBI, and 31 runs scored. In 696 games over eight seasons, he’s hitting .240 with a .726 OPS. He has 123 doubles, 11 triples, 86 home runs, 291 RBI, and 315 runs scored.

Falter, in five games, with two coming as starts, is 0-2. He had a 13.97 ERA, a 3.10 WHIP, and six strikeouts in 9.2 innings. Falter has made 119 career appearances, going 25-32. He has a 4.77 ERA, a 1.32 WHIP, and 352 strikeouts in 475.2 innings.
