
The Boston Red Sox returned the favor to the Orioles after last night’s loss with a 17-1 victory to snap a four-game skid.
Boston scored ten runs in the ninth inning on the way to victory. Willson Contreras singled, scoring one run, Andruw Monasterio hit a grand slam, Caleb Durbin hit a two-run home run, and Contreras hit a three-run home run. The Red Sox opened the scoring in the top of the second inning after Durbin doubled, Isiah Kiner-Falefa singled, and Ceddanne Rafaela singled, each scoring one run.
Garrett Crochet earned the win for the Red Sox. The Boston ace allowed three hits and zero runs over six innings, striking out seven and walking two. Trevor Rogers took the loss for Baltimore. The southpaw went one and two-thirds innings, surrendering three runs on four hits, striking out two, and walking two.

Player of the Game
Andruw Monasterio led the offense. He entered the game struggling against lefties and in his first at bat against a lefty he hit a double. Monasterio faced a lefty in the ninth inning when he hit the grand slam. He would also double in his next at-bat which came against a righty. Monasterio also reached on a fielder’s choice in the fifth and scored on Connor Wong’s double. He finished going 3-6 with four RBI and three runs scored.
