Portland Erases Altoona’s Five-Run First to Beat Curve
Altoona jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the first on a three-run homer from Titus Dumitru and a two-run single from Matt King. The Sea Dogs got a run on a wild pitch in the first as Franklin Arias scored. In the second, Brooks Brannon cleared the bases with a double to make it 5-4. In the third Ahbram Liendo singled home a run to tie it, then Arias hit a two-run home run to make it 7-5. Altoona got a run in the eighth, but the Sea Dogs picked up the win.
Baysox score eight early to beat Rumble Ponies
Chesapeake got a solo home run from Ethan Anderson in the first, an RBI groundout from Frederick Bencosme, and a solo home run from Thomas Sosa, making it 3-0. Willy Vasquez hit a solo home run in the second to add to Chesapeake’s lead. Sosa singled home two more in the third, and Griff O’Ferall brought home a run on a sacrifice fly to make it 6-1. Aron Estrada singled home a run, and Anderson had an RBI groundout to make it 8-2 after four. JT Schwartz and Nick Lorusso each drove in two for Binghamton.
Senators Break Scoreless Tie in Eighth to Beat Richmond
In the eighth, with the game tied 2-2, Harrisburg broke it open. Maxwell Romero Jr., with the bases loaded, was hit by a pitch to bring home a run; T.J. White and Cortland Lawson would each then single home two runs each to give Harrisburg a 7-2 win. Bo Davidson crushed his 18th home run of the season for Richmond in the loss. Alex Clemmey went five innings for the Senators, allowing a run on three hits. He walked four and struck out four. Yunior Marte for Richmond went five innings, allowing two runs on five hits. He walked one and struck out three.
SeaWolves ‘ Eight-Run Third Leads to a Win over Akron
The SeaWolves got an RBI single from Thayron Liranzo, a two-run single from Chris Meyers, a bases-loaded Justice Bigbie RBI walk, an Andrew Jenkins RBI two-RBI single, and a Peyton Graham RBI single; they also got a run on a disengagement violation to make it 8-1. They got two-run doubles from Seth Stephenson and Garrett Pennington in the fifth to put the game away in an 18-9 final. Alfonsin Rosario and Bennett Thompson each hit home runs for Akron; Thompson’s was a grand slam.
Somerset Scores Two in Seventh to Beat Yard Goats
The game was tied at 3-3 in the seventh when DJ Gladney hit a two-run home run to give Somerset a 5-3 win over Hartford. Jace Avina hit a two-run home run for the Patriots as well. The Yard Goats got home runs from Roc Riggio and Jack O’Dowd in the loss.
Fisher Cats Win Back-and-Forth Game over Reading
The Fisher Cats scored two in the second, but Reading answered with three of their own. New Hampshire took the lead back in the third. In the fourth, Nick Goodwin and Aaron Parker hit two-run home runs to make it 7-3. In the fifth, Reading made it a one-run game with an Alex Binelas RBI double and RBI singles from Kehden Hettiger and Riley Tirotta. Both teams scored three runs each in the sixth. New Hampshire added some insurance in the ninth with an RBI single from Jackson Hornung, making it 11-9. Luke Russo for Reading went five innings, allowing seven runs on seven hits. He walked three and struck out seven. Javen Coleman shut the door for New Hampshire. He went two innings, allowing a run on two hits, walked none, and struck out four.
