The Detroit Tigers improved to 20-25 following their walk-off win over the Blue Jays last night. They trail the Cleveland Guardians for first place in the American League Central by 3.5 games. They’re two games back of the Texas Rangers for the final wild card spot in the American League.

The Blue Jays took a 2-0 lead in the second inning on a two-RBI double. The Tigers got a run back in the third as Kevin McGonigle scored on a wild pitch. Riley Greene then doubled in the tying run in the sixth. The game remained tied until the bottom of the ninth. They got runners on first and second but had two outs until Spencer Torkelson singled home the winning run to give Detroit a 3-2 victory. The Tigers bullpen after Brant Hurter went 7.1 shutout innings allowing three hits, and striking out four.
Standout Performer
Drew Anderson allowed the Tigers the comeback as he went four shutout innings. He allowed one hit and struck out one allowing Kenley Jansen to come out and keep the game tied.
Key News & Notes
The Tigers today activated Connor Seabold and optioned Ricky Vanasco to Triple-A Toledo. Tarik Skubal is reportedly playing catch which is a good sign for the Tigers. They also reported today that Will Vest will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Toledo soon. Riley Greene extended his hitting streak to ten games. In that stretch he’s hitting .459 with six doubles, and four RBI during that stretch.

- Toledo Mud Hens (AAA): Troy Watson went five innings allowing a run on two hits. He walked one and didn’t strike out anyone in a 3-2 win over the Storm Chasers.
- Erie SeaWolves (AA): Bennett Lee went 2-3 with two RBI and a run scored in an 8-6 win over the Flying Squirrels.
- West Michigan Whitecaps (A+): Jackson Strong went 1-3 but accounted for all two of the three Whitecaps runs in a 9-3 loss to the Loons.
- Lakeland Flying Tigers (A): Edian Espinal went 2-3 with a run scored in a 6-2 loss to the Threshers.
- FCL Tigers (ROK): Andrew Sears went two scoreless innings to start the game and struck out four in a 4-3 loss to the FCL Blue Jays.
