The Colorado Rockies kick off their 2026 season with a road series against the Miami Marlins. Today’s first pitch will be at 7:10 EST. Kyle Freeland will take the mound for the Rockies. Sandy Alcantara will pitch for the Miami Marlins. Tonight’s game will be found on MLB.TV and Rockies.TV. Colorado will try to rebound from a disastrous 2025 season, where they won 43 games and lost 119. Ahead of today’s game, the Colorado Rockies have announced two roster moves. They have sent one player to the Injured list and recalled a catcher from Triple-A.

Mickey Moniak

The Colorado Rockies have placed outfielder Mickey Moniak on the 10-day injured list. The move is retroactive to March 24th. He is recovering from a right ring finger sprain. This spring Moniak had two home runs, one double, and five RBI. He slashed .250/.349/.444 for the Rockies. Last season Moniak had a productive year. He had 20 doubles, eight triples, 24 home runs, and 68 RBI. Moniak finished the season with a .270/.306/.518 slashline.

Braxton Fulford

The Colorado Rockies recalled Catcher Braxton Fulford from Triple-A today before the opening game against Miami. Fulford played in 16 games this spring with a .270/.317/.514 slashline. He had three home runs and eight RBI for the Rockies. Last season Fulford played in 38 games for Colorado. He finished the 2025 season with five doubles, two triples, one home run, and 16 RBI. Fulford slashed .213/.267/.324 last season for the Rockies. While with the Albuquerque Isotopes Fulford slashed .354/.433/.714 in 43 games last season.
