They visit the Colorado Rockies in Cactus League play this afternoon. They have won three straight heading into this afternoon’s game. The Texas Rangers open the season in Philadelphia on March 26th. Today, they announced two roster moves ahead of their game with the Rockies. They have cut ties with one reliever and have signed a free agent reliever in his place.

Jalen Beeks

The Texas Rangers have signed left-handed relief pitcher Jalen Beeks to a contract today. Beeks spent last year with the Arizona Diamondbacks. He appeared in 61 games with a 3.77 ERA in 57.1 innings pitched for the Diamondbacks. He finished his year with a 5-3 record with a 1.08 WHIP and 47 strikeouts.

Alexis Diaz

The Texas Rangers have designated right-handed pitcher Alexis Diaz for assignment today before their game with Colorado. Diaz struggled mightily this spring for the Rangers. In three games pitched, he threw 1.2 innings of work with a 43.20 ERA and 4.20 WHIP. He recorded one strikeout this spring for the Rangers. Last season, he pitched for three different teams. He started the season with the Reds before they traded him to the Los Angeles Dodgers. The Dodgers designated him for assignment in early September, and the Atlanta Braves picked him up on September 7th. He pitched in six games for the Reds. He pitched in nine games for the Dodgers. In 2025, he also pitched in three games for the Braves. He combined for an 8.15 ERA, one win, 17 strikeouts, and a 1.53 WHIP over 17.2 innings of work last season.
