Boston Red Sox Notes: Loss, Nate Eaton’s Big Night, and More

The Boston Red Sox dropped their second straight to the Twins and are 22-29. They’re 13 games back of the Rays for first place in the American League East. They’re 2.5 games back of the Seattle Mariners for the final spot in the American League wild card standings.

MLB Game Recap

The Twins came out ready to go, scoring two in the first inning. The Red Sox added one back as Ceddanne Rafaela doubled home a run. Minnesota would add two more in the fifth to make it 4-1. In the bottom of the ninth, the Red Sox would threaten and got one back as Isiah Kiner-Falefa walked with the bases loaded to make it 4-2. Brayan Bello, in his new role, went five innings, allowing two runs, non-earned, and allowed eight hits. He walked one and struck out five. Jovani Moran as his opener, allowing two runs on three hits. He didn’t issue a walk and struck out one.

Willson Conteras went 2-3 with a run scored and a triple.

The Red Sox dropped to 8-16 at home this season. Bello after an opener is 1-0 with a 0.98 ERA, a 1.04 WHIP, and 17 strikeouts in 18.1 innings. Boston is expected to reinstate Danny Coloumbue before tommorow’s game.
