Texas Rangers Roster Transactions 3/30

Texas Rangers Roster Transactions | Inside The Diamonds

The Texas Rangers have been bitten by the injury bug very early into the season this year. Already plagued with injury, this squad will show their resilience by following the mantra they set out with last season, “Next Man Up”. Thus far this season, the Rangers have lost Jon Gray and Cody Bradford for an extended period. They are also slow-playing Corey Seager due to a persistent calf issue.

On March 28th, Josh Jung was removed from the game against the Red Sox in the top of the 8th inning due to some neck stiffness. To compound that issue, on March 29th, Josh Smith crashed into the dugout fence while attempting to catch a foul ball in the top of the 1st inning. He initially remained in the game but was lifted at the beginning of the following inning. It was later announced that Josh Smith was suffering from a quad contusion. On March 30th, the Texas Rangers placed Josh Jung on the 10-day injured list. They called up Jonathan Ornelas to cover for Smith and Jung until they can return to the squad whole and healthy. Ornelas will start at short in today’s game.
