Rangers Prospects

The Round Rock Express opened their season at Dell Diamond in Round Rock, Texas, against the Sugar Land Space Cowboys, the AAA affiliate of the Houston Astros. The Express dropped the season opener on Friday, March 29th, 2024, with a score of 4-2, but ultimately won the series. Saturday, March 30th, 2024, was much different for the Express. The Express trailed the Space Cowboys until the 5th inning when the Express broke it open, ending with a score of 6-8 in favor of the Express. On Sunday, March 31st, the Express took an early lead. The Space Cowboys rallied in the top of the 9th, but it wasn’t enough. The Express took the series with the final score of 6-8.

OF – Evan Carter – Texas Rangers

In their opening series, Evan Carter appeared in all three games for the Texas Rangers. He went 0-8 with three runs, one RBI, five walks, and one strikeout.

OF – Wyatt Langford – Texas Rangers

Wyatt Langford appeared in all three games for the Texas Rangers in their opening series. In his Major League debut, he went 1-3 with one RBI, walk, and strikeout. His first MLB at-bat was a strikeout, his second was a sac fly to drive in a run, and his final at-bat of his first game was a single. During the series, he went 4-12 with one run, three RBIs, two walks, one of which was intentional, and three strikeouts.

INF – Sebastian Walcott – Hickory Crawdads

Sebastian Walcott will begin the 2024 regular season on April 5th, 2024, with the club’s High A affiliate, the Hickory Crawdads.

RHP – Brock Porter – Hickory Crawdads.

INF – Justin Foscue – Round Rock Express

Justin Foscue appeared in all three games of the Round Rock Express’ opening series against the Sugar Land Space Cowboys. He went 3-13 with one run, two RBIs, two walks, and four strikeouts.

INF – Abimelec Ortiz – Frisco Rough Riders

Abimelec Ortiz will begin the 2024 regular season on April 5th, 2024, with the franchise AA affiliate, the Frisco Rough Riders.

INF – Davis Wendzel – Round Rock Express

Davis Wendzel appeared in all three games of the Express’ opening series. He went 2-11 with three runs, one RBI, one walk, and two strikeouts.

OF – Jonathan Ornelas – Round Rock Express

Jonathan Ornelas dazzled in the opening series, appearing in all three games against the Space Cowboys. He went 6-12 with three runs, four RBIs, no walks, one strikeout, and one home run.

RHP – Jack Leiter – Round Rock Express

Jack Leiter appeared in one game and pitched five innings of relief. He gave up two hits, two earned runs, and one home run and struck out nine batters.

INF – Cameron Cauley – Hickory Crawdads

Cameron Cauley will start the 2024 regular season on April 5th, 2024, with the club’s High A affiliate, the Hickory Crawdads.
