The New York Mets have won two straight games. They took the first game of their three-game series with the Marlins last night, winning 9-7. The Mets have a 24-33 record entering today’s game. They are 14 and a half games back from the Braves in the NL East. Tyler Phillips will pitch for the Marlins. The Mets will send out Christian Scott in the 4:10 PM game at Citi Field today. The New York Mets announced three roster moves before today’s game. They optioned Tobias Myers to Syracuse. They also selected the contract of another pitcher from Syracuse in the process.

Anderson Severino

The Mets have designated the left-handed pitcher Anderson Severino for assignment today. Severino has pitched in six games for New York with a 6.14 ERA and a 1.50 WHIP. He has pitched 7.1 innings of work, recording nine strikeouts for the Mets this season.

Tobias Myers

The Mets have optioned Tobias Myers to Triple-A today ahead of their game with the Marlins. Myers has pitched in 20 games for the Mets this season with two starts. He has one loss on the year with a 4.05 ERA and a 1.08 WHIP. Myers has pitched in 33.1 innings of work, striking out 26 this season.

Cionel Perez

The New York Mets have selected the contract of Cionel Perez today from Triple-A. Perez has pitched in 16 games already for the Nationals this season. He has a 2-3 record with a 6.19 ERA and a 1.69 WHIP. Perez signed a minor league contract with the Mets on May 9th. He elected free agency after he was sent outright to Triple-A by the Nationals.
