
The Oklahoma Sooners won the National Championship after dropping game two and their first chance to win it.

Game 3:
After a scoreless first, Kyle Branch opened the scoring for the Sooners with an RBI single. Dayton Tockey then scored on a wild pitch to make it 2-1. In the third, Brendan Brock singled home a run to make it 3-0. The Tar Heels got on the board in the bottom half with an RBI single from Gavin Gallagher. Deiten LaChance was at it again with a bases-loaded walk. Jaxon Willits singled home two runs to make it 6-1. Tockey was at it again in the fifth with a solo home run to make it 6-1. Branch singled home a run in the sixth to add to the lead. North Carolina got one back as Owen Hull reached on an infield single, bringing home a run. Dasan Harris erased the Tar Heels’ run with an RBI single. Branch then hit a three-run homer to extend the lead.
Nick Wesloski got the start for the Sooners, going 2.1 innings, allowing one run on five hits. He walked one and struck out three. LJ Mercurius went 5.2 innings, allowing a run on four hits. He didn’t walk anyone and struck out five. Jackson Cleveland shut the door to give Oklahoma the National title. The Tar Heels used eight different pitchers in the loss.
