The Minnesota Twins wrap up their series with the Miami Marlins this afternoon with first pitch at 12:40 PM CDT. The Twins won the first game of the series on Tuesday but dropped the second game last night, 9-5. They’re 5-6 in May, averaging 4.4 runs per game while allowing six runs per game. Ahead of today’s game, they recalled outfielder Ryan Kreidler and right-handed pitcher Zebby Matthews from Triple-A St. Paul. To make room, they optioned outfielder Matt Wallner and right-handed pitcher Travis Adams to Triple-A St. Paul. Matthews will start today against the Marlins.

Ryan Kreidler

Kriedler, in five games with the Twins this season, is hitting .214 with a 1.103 OPS. He has a double, two home runs, four RBI, and two runs scored. In 26 games at St. Paul, he’s hitting .266 with a .889 OPS. He has seven doubles, five home runs, 15 RBI, 15 runs scored, and three stolen bases. In 94 career big league games, he’s hit .144 with a .435 OPS. He has two doubles, four home runs, 12 RBI, 26 runs scored, and seven stolen bases.

Zebby Matthews

Matthews, in seven starts at Triple-A, is 3-2 with a 4.72 ERA, a 1.51 WHIP, and 33 strikeouts in 34.1 innings. He’s made 25 starts in the big leagues, going 6-10 with a 5.92 ERA, a 1.53 WHIP, and 131 strikeouts in 117 innings.

Matt Wallner

Wallner in 34 games this season with the Twins, hitting .167 with a .551 OPS. He has three doubles, four home runs, ten RBI, and 14 runs scored. In 307 career big league games, he’s hitting .223 with a .794 OPS. He has 50 doubles, five triples, 55 home runs, 138 RBI, 133 runs scored, and ten stolen bases.

Travis Adams

Adams in two games for the Twins, posted a 7.36 ERA, a 2.18 WHIP, and five strikeouts in 3.2 innings. In seven games in the minors between Single-A and Triple-A, he’s 3-0.
