Fighting Phils Even Series with Altoona

Reading was all over the Curve, late scoring six runs in the final four innings. Aroon Escobar’s three-run home run in the sixth was a major blow. Erick Brito went 3-4 with two RBI and two runs scored. Derek Berg went 4-5 for Altoona, and Callan Moss went 3-4 with a solo home run, which was Altoona’s lone run. Adam Seminaris went 3.1 scoreless innings, allowing five hits; he didn’t allow a walk and struck out six.

Caleb Lomavita hit a two-run home run in the second to open the scoring. Sam Petersen hit a two-RBI double in the third to make it 4-0. Ethan Anderson got Chesapeake on the board with a two-run home run. Lomavita hit a two-run triple that sealed the coffin. Isaac Lyon went 4.2 innings, allowing two runs on four hits. He walked two and struck out six. Cade Povich struggled, going 3.2 innings, allowing four runs, three earned, on five hits. He walked one and struck out four.

RubberDucks Hand Flying Squirrels First Second Half Loss

Akron jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first and never looked back. Alex Mooney led the way, going 2-4 with three RBI and two runs scored. Four RubberDucks hitters had two hits. Josh Hartle went four innings, allowing a run on three hits. He walked three and struck out three. Sabin Ceballos led Richmond, going 2-5 with a solo home run, which was their only run.

Yard Gots Score Three Late to Beat Sea Dogs

Portland led 3-1 in the seventh when Zach Kokoska singled home two runs to tie it at 3-3. Andy Perez drove home the winning run in the eighth with a sacrifice fly. Miguel Bleis hit two solo home runs. Connor Staine went seven innings for Hartford, allowing all three Portland runs on five hits. He walked one and struck out four. John Holobetz went six innings, allowing a run on three hits. He walked one and struck out six.
