Game Recap: Duran Big Fly Leads To Red Sox Win

Tonight, in the first game of the series between the Red Sox and the Astros, the story was strong pitching and home runs.

The Astros took a 1-0 lead thanks to a Carlos Correa home run. The Red Sox took the lead as Jarren Duran hit his second big fly of the season. This one was a three-run shot.

Jake Bennett, in his big league debut, earned the win for Boston. The southpaw allowed five hits and one run over five innings, striking out three and walking two. Mike Burrows took the loss for Houston. The starter went six innings, giving up three runs on eight hits, striking out three, and walking one. Aroldis Chapman collected the save. Garrett Whitlock, Zack Kelly, and Danny Coulombe each threw scoreless innings for Boston in relief.

Jarren Duran had one hit in the game, but the one hit was a three-run home run, which led the Red Sox to the win in the first game of the series.
