Detroit Tigers Top Prospect Is Heating up in Toledo

The Toledo Mud Hens wrapped up a series with the St. Paul Saints, going 1-5. They’re currently 31-37, sitting 11.5 games back of first place in the International League West division. The Mud Hens have the seventh-ranked prospect in all of baseball, and the Tigers’ top-ranked prospect in outfielder Max Clark. Clark over the series with the Saints played in all six games. He went 7-25, but in the final three games, he went 6-13 with a home run, three RBI, three runs scored, two walks, and a stolen base. This season in 60 games at Toledo, Clark is hitting .259 with a .736 OPS. He has 13 doubles, two triples, five home runs, 27 RBI, 41 runs scored, 13 stolen bases, and 31 walks.

Max Clark

The Tigers drafted Clark third overall in the 2023 MLB Draft. In four seasons in Detroit’s organization, including this season, he’s appeared in 301 games, hitting .268 with a .795 OPS. He has 56 doubles, 14 triples, 30 home runs, 188 RBI, 219 runs scored, 66 stolen bases, and 207 walks. In his first season, he appeared in 23 games between rookie ball and Single-A Lakeland. Clark hit .224 with a .760 OPS. He had five doubles, a triple, two home runs, 19 RBI, 18 runs scored, five stolen bases, and 21 walks.

In year two, he appeared in 107 games between Single-A and High-A West Michigan. Clark hit .279 with a .794 OPS. He had 21 doubles, six triples, nine home runs, 75 RBI, 75 runs scored, 29 stolen bases, and 61 walks. Last season, he appeared in 111 games between High-A and Double-A Erie. He hit .271 with an .835 OPS. He had 17 doubles, five triples, 14 home runs, 67 RBI, 85 runs scored, 19 stolen bases, and 94 walks.
