Noelvi Marte

The Cincinnati Reds have recalled outfielder Noelvi Marte from Triple-A today ahead of their game with the Royals. Marte started the year with the Reds, but after slashing .138/.194/.138, he was sent down to Triple-A. While with the Louisville Bats, Marte has been tearing the cover off the ball with a .369/.409/.575 slashline. He has seven doubles, one triple, eight home runs, and 27 RBI in 40 games.

TJ Friedl

The Cincinnati Reds have optioned TJ Friedl to Triple-A today. Friedl has struggled this season, and the time has come for him to work it out in the minors. He has played in 47 games this year with 15 runs scored on 28 hits. Of those 28 hits, six were doubles, and two were home runs. Friedl has driven in eight runs this season. One of the glaring concerns is the fact that he has drawn 13 walks to his 42 strikeouts this year. He heads to Louisville with a .179/.259/.256 slashline.
