The Chicago White Sox have a 13-17 record entering today’s game with the Angels. They will look to complete the sweep today. Chicago is two games behind the Tigers in the AL Central, but sits in fourth place. Before today’s game, the White Sox announced two roster moves. They sent one outfielder to the injured list. They also selected the contract of a former top prospect from Triple-A.

Everson Pereira

The Chicago White Sox have placed outfielder Everson Pereira on the 10-day injured list with a right pectoral strain. Pereira has played in 18 games this season for Chicago. He has four doubles, three home runs, seven RBI, and a .250 average.

Jarred Kelenic

The White Sox have selected the contract of outfielder Jarred Kelenic from the Charlotte Knights ahead of today’s game. Kelenic was a first-round pick of the New York Mets. He was later traded to the Seattle Mariners. There, he was a highly touted prospect. Kelenic was with the Braves organization the past two seasons. He played in 24 games for the Braves last season, hitting .167 with 23 strikeouts and ten hits. This season in Triple-A Kelenic has a .202 average with four doubles, six home runs, 18 RBI, and seven steals in 26 games.
