
Last night, the Philadelphia Phillies picked up a 15-3 win over the New York Mets in the middle game of their three-game series. The Mets took the first game of their series on Thursday before the two teams were off Friday due to the World Cup. Bryce Harper hit for the cycle in Saturday’s win, which was the 11th cycle in the Phillies franchise history.

Harper, in the first inning, hit a solo home run to open the scoring. Harper, in the bottom of the third, doubled. He got another at-bat in the third inning, and in that at-bat, he singled. In the fifth inning with runners on first and second, Harper tripled to left-center field, driving home the two runs and completing the cycle. In his final at-bat, Harper grounded out. It was the first time Harper had hit for the cycle in his career. He finished the game going 4-5 with three RBI and two runs scored.
Harper this season is hitting .259 with a .873 OPS. He has 13 doubles, two triples, 16 home runs, 43 RBI, and 50 runs scored.

Schwarber, in the game, went 4-5 with six RBI in three home runs. Schwarber leads all of baseball in home runs with 28 now. Cristopher Sanchez got the ball for the Phillies, going six innings, allowing a run on five hits. He walked one and struck out five. He improved to 9-3 and lowered his ERA to 1.80 as he’s the current favorite for the National League Cy Young.
