Key News & Notes

It’ll be interesting how the Red Sox configure things once Romy Gonzalez and Trevor Story return. Gonzalez likely will go to second base, adding another right-handed bat, but with Durbin heating up and Mayer’s glove, who sits? It’ll be a tough situation.

Mayer, in 32 of the 36 games on the road, is hitting .281 with a .751 OPS. He has 12 RBI and 12 runs scored. Connelly Early whose getting the start tonight, as he has a 2.82 ERA on the road while having a 4.82 ERA at home. He looks to get back on track tonight. He’s 0-3 in his last three starts. He has a 7.36 ERA, a 1.98 WHIP, and 15 strikeouts in 14.2 innings pitched.
