The Toronto Blue Jays recalled utilityman Addison Barger and designated Dan Vogelbach for assignment, the team announced on Friday, June 14.

Barger who is the Blue Jays fourth-ranked prospect by ITD, spent a short stint with the Blue Jays in late April making his major league debut, hitting .056 (1-for-18) throughout five games with six strikeouts. The Blue Jays noted that he will be active for the Jays’ Friday game against the Cleveland Guardians.

Vogelbach has only made appearances as a designated hitter this season. He hit .186 with just one home run in his 79 plate appearances throughout 31 games this season.

Toronto is set to play a three-game series against the Guardians starting tonight with the first pitch set for 6:07 pm CST. Toronto has recorded a win-loss record of 33-35 this season placing them fourth in the AL East and faces the Guardians who have a win-loss record of 43-23 placing them first in the AL Central.
