Arizona Diamondbacks Roster Transactions | Inside The Diamonds

Spring training continues and with that trimming down the roster and shifting players to the minor league affiliates as the Arizona Diamondbacks continue to build momentum towards opening day. Today they brought on five transactions seeing the D-Backs option RHP Cristian Mena, Peter Strzelecki, Justin Martinez, OF Jorge Barrosa, and top prospect SS Jordan Lawler. All five players were optioned to the Triple AAA Reno Aces.

By the Numbers

RHP- Cristian Mena

Mena only appeared in one game this spring pitching one inning giving up no hits, no walks, and recorded zero strikeouts.

RHP- Peter Strzelecki

Strzelecki appeared in four games, throwing a total of 3.2 innings. During his time worked Strzelecki gave up five hits, two earned runs, one walk, and four strikeouts while recording a 4.91 ERA over his spring action.

RHP- Justin Martinez

Martinez pitched in five games this spring throwing a total of five innings. During his time he allowed eight hits, two earned runs, and one walk, struck out seven batters, and had a 3.60 ERA.

OF- Jorge Barrosa

Barrosa played in nine games this spring, receiving 22 at-bats, scoring five runs, six hits, having two RBIs, two walks, three stolen bases, and striking out six times. Barrosa had an average of .273, an on-base percentage of .346 over those 22 at-bats.

SS – Jordan Lawler

Top Prospect Lawler played in a total of eight games this spring, receiving 17 at-bats before being optioned to Reno. Lawler scored three runs, had three hits, one double, one home run, two RBIs, three walks, and struck out six times. Lawler ended the MLB spring camp hitting .176, with a .412 slugging percentage, and an OBP of .333 during his time at the big club.
