Arizona Diamondbacks Announce Spring Breakout Rosters: Here’s Everything You Need to Know.

SCOTTSDALE, AZ – On Saturday, March 16, the Arizona Diamondbacks will play the Colorado Rockies in the newly implemented “Spring Breakout,” an exhibition featuring the top prospects in each farm system. The Spring Breakout game against the Rockies is scheduled with the first pitch at 4:10 p.m. MST at Salt River Fields. Earlier that day they will play a regularly scheduled Cactus League game at 1:05 p.m. MST against the Texas Rangers in Surprise. The Colorado Rockies will also play a Cactus League game at Salt River Fields against the Oakland Athletics beginning at 1:10 p.m. MST.

The Spring Breakout games will be a four-day showcase of action held from March 14-17 at the Grapefruit and Cactus League stadiums during Spring Training. These games create great opportunities for fans to see the up-and-coming future stars of the league showcase themselves in standalone games.

The breakout roster for has been announced and is loaded with young and promising prospects, with a handful that may be on the big league roster at some point this season. When asked on which minor leaguers he was most interested to see take the field, manager Torey Lovullo made remarks towards shortstop Tommy Troy, who last year was the D-backs first-round pick in the MLB draft and outfielder Druw Jones, Arizona’s top pick, second overall, in the 2022 MLB Draft.

For a young core that triumphantly made their way to the World Series last season, this roster has a great deal of excitement coming into Saturday. There is plenty of talent in this farm system will be apart of the sustained future success in the Valley.
