Toronto Blue Jays Roster Transactions | Inside The Diamonds

The Toronto Blue Jays are off today as they start a three-game series tomorrow against the Texas Rangers in Texas. The Blue Jays are riding a three-game winning streak and have won four of their last five games. Today they claimed catcher Tyler Heineman off waivers from the Boston Red Sox, the same team they traded their catcher Danny Jansen to at the trade deadline. The corresponding move for Heineman is they have designated Brian Serven for assignment.

C – Tyler Heineman

Heineman has had a five-year big-league career playing for five different teams, one of which was the Blue Jays. In his previous tenure with Toronto, he had played in 29 games hitting .273 with a .771 OPS; he had three doubles, a triple, four RBI, six runs scored, and seven walks. In his career, he’s played in 106 big league games hitting .216 with a .577 OPS; he has 11 doubles, one triple, one home run, 15 RBI, 25 runs scored, three stolen bases, and 20 walks. This season with the Red Sox he appeared in two games, he didn’t record a hit. In the minors for the Red Sox this season he’s played in 52 games hitting .253 with a .780 OPS; he has four doubles, a triple, six home runs, 27 RBI, 27 runs scored, eight stolen bases, and 28 walks.

C – Brian Serven

Serven is in his third big league season and has played in 101 games hitting .187 with a .540 OPS; he has nine doubles, a triple, six home runs, 20 RBI, 25 runs scored, and 18 walks. This season with Toronto in 28 games he’s hitting .159 with a .465 OPS; he had four doubles, three RBI, six runs scored, and five walks. At Triple-A Buffalo he’s played in 40 games hitting .265 with a .769 OPS; he had six doubles, three home runs, 15 RBI, 17 runs scored, and 26 walks.
