The Toronto Blue Jays are 18-24 after dropping their third straight game last night. They’ve also lost seven of their last nine games. They trail the Tampa Bay Rays by 10.5 games for the American League East division lead. They’re 2.5 games back of the Chicago White Sox for the final wild card spot in the American League.

MLB Game Recap

Toronto lost last night in extra innings to the Rays. The Blue Jays, behind a five-run seventh inning, tied the Rays. They got an RBI double from Jesus Sanchez, an RBI infield single by George Springer, a two-RBI double by Yohendrick Pinango, who also scored on an error to tie the game. The game went to extras, where the Rays added two runs in the top half of the inning. Toronto made it a one-run game on a sacrifice fly, but that would be it. Patrick Corbin got the start, going 4.1 innings, allowing three runs on nine hits. He walked one and struck out one. The bullpen combined to go 5.2 innings, allowing four runs, three earned on four hits. They walked five and struck out seven.

Yohendrick Pinango replaced Myles Straw and went 1-3 with two RBI and a run scored to help Toronto tie the game in the seventh innings.
