Toronto Blue Jays & Miami Marlins Agree to Prospect Trade

The Toronto Blue Jays and Miami Marlins agreed to a surprising trade tonight involving prospects. Infielder Leo Jimenez is being dealt to the Marlins, while infielder Dub Gleed and cash are heading to the Blue Jays.

Jimenez has spent seven seasons in the Blue Jays system, appearing in 400 games. He has hit .273 with a .781 OPS. He has 77 doubles, nine triples, 22 home runs, 179 RBI, 250 runs scored,25 stolen bases, and 202 walks. Jimenez has also played in 81 career big league games, hitting .207 with a .635 OPS. He had 11 doubles, five home runs, 20 RBI, and 20 runs scored.

Dub Gleed

The Marlins drafted Gleeb in the ninth round of the 2024 MLB Draft. He spent three seasons at UC Irvine before he was drafted. In 138 games, he hit .302 with a .856 OPS. He had 37 doubles, three triples, 13 home runs, 122 RBI, 93 runs scored, and three stolen bases. He then joined the Marlins organization, where in his lone season, he jumped across four levels. Gleed played in rookie ball, Single-A, Double-A, and Triple-A. In 72 games, he hit .252 with a .737 OPS. He had 15 doubles, two home runs, 26 RBI, 29 runs scored, and five stolen bases.
