
The Toronto Blue Jays are wrapping up their Grapefruit League schedule today. The Blue Jays already claimed the Grapefruit League Championship. Today John Schneider confirmed the final three spots on the opening day roster for position players have been claimed as Myles Straw, Nathan Lukes, and Alan Roden got the spots. The bullpen remains a question but Max Scherzer checked in today saying he’s feeling good.

Myles Straw
Straw this spring in 18 games hit .414 with a 1.072 OPS. He had two doubles, a home run, six RBI, six runs scored, and a stolen base. Straw was acquired from the Cleveland Guardians in January. Last season in Cleveland he hit .250 with a .500 OPS in seven games. He had two runs scored and two stolen bases.
Nathan Lukes
Lukes hit .206 with a .710 OPS in 16 games this spring. He had two doubles, a home run, three RBI, six runs scored, a stolen base, and seven walks. Last season, he spent time at Single-A Dunedin, Triple-A Buffalo, and Toronto. In the minors, he played in 57 games, hitting .335 with a .867 OPS. Lukes had seven doubles, seven home runs, 32 RBI, and 33 runs scored. He played in 22 games with Toronto hitting .303 with a .818 OPS. Lukes had four doubles, two triples, a home run, ten RBI, and 13 runs scored.

Alan Roden
Roden is the Blue Jays’ fifth-ranked prospect entering this season. This spring in 19 games he hit .423 with a .731 OPS. He had two doubles, two home runs, six RBI, and eight runs scored. He spent 2024 in Double-A New Hampshire and Triple-A Buffalo. Roden played 55 games at New Hampshire hitting .267 with a .805 OPS. He had 11 doubles, a triple, seven home runs, 27 RBI, and 31 runs scored. In Buffalo, he played in 71 games hitting .314 with a .916 OPS. He had 15 doubles, three triples, nine home runs, 48 RBI, and 41 runs scored. Roden combined to play in 126 games between the two levels hitting .391 with a .865 OPS.
