Texas Rangers Roster Transactions | Inside The Diamonds

Several days ago, we saw the first cuts in Spring Training. Today, the Texas Rangers optioned right-handed pitchers Zak Kent and Owen White back to the club’s AAA team, the Round Rock Express. Right-handed pitcher Emiliano Teodo and left-handed pitcher Grant Wolfram returned to the Minor League camp in Surprise. As of the posting of this article, the Texas Rangers now have a total of 60 players in Major League camp. The 40-man roster currently stands at 37, and 23 non-roster invitees are remaining.

By the Numbers

RHP – Zak Kent

Zak Kent has pitched in three games this spring for a total of 3.2 innings. He has a record of 0-0 with an ERA of 12.27, two strikeouts, and a WHIP of 2.45.

RHP – Owen White

Owen White has made three appearances thus far this spring for a total of six innings. He has a record of 0-0 with an ERA of 9.00, five strikeouts, and a WHIP of 2.17.

RHP – Emiliano Teodo

Emiliano Teodo has appeared in two games this spring for 1.1 innings. He has a record of 1-0 with an ERA of 0.00, two strikeouts, and a WHIP of 1.50.

LHP – Grant Wolfram

Grant Wolfram has pitched 1.1 innings in two games this spring. He has a record of 1-0, an ERA of 0.00, two strikeouts, and a WHIP of 1.50.

Recap

While it may be a while before we see these prospects in the big leagues, we will watch them with great interest as they develop in Round Rock! There is a chance that one or more of these pitchers may be called upon at some point as the season progresses. What will the Rangers do with the three spots now available on the 40-man roster? Only time will tell, but I certainly have my hopes!
