Texas Rangers Down on the Farm 5/27-6/2

Rangers Prospects

The franchise had a much more productive week this week! Almost all levels of the franchise came out with series wins. The Texas Rangers went 4-1, winning both the series with the Arizona Diamondbacks and the Miami Marlins. The Frisco RoughRiders are riding a 9 game winning streak that began last week against the Midland Rockhounds and continued through the week against the San Antonio Missions. The Down East Wood Ducks went 4-2 against the Fredericksburg Nationals. The Hickory Crawdads split their series against the Winston-Salem Dash 3-3. The only level of the franchise that did not come away with a series win was the Round Rock Express going 2-4 against the El Paso Chihuahuas.

OF – Wyatt Langford – Texas Rangers

Wyatt Langford appeared in all five of the scheduled games with the Rangers. He went 4-19 with two runs, four RBIs and five strikeouts. This is Langford’s last week atop the chart as he was promoted from prospect to rookie at the end of the week.

INF – Sebastian Walcott – Hickory Crawdads

Sebastian Walcott played in five of the six games this week. He went 5-20 with three runs, three RBIs, two walks, and six strikeouts.

RHP – Brock Porter – ACL Rangers

Brock Porter was assigned to the ACL Rangers on April 27th and remains there for the time being. He did not appear in any of the games this week.

INF – Justin Foscue – Texas Rangers

Justin Foscue remains on the 60-day injured list with an oblique injury sustained while swinging for his first Major League hit.

INF – Abimelec Ortiz – Frisco RoughRiders

Abimelec Ortiz appeared in four of the six games this week, going 1-14 with two runs and five strikeouts.

INF – Davis Wendzel – Round Rock Express

Davis Wendzel appeared in five of the six scheduled games for the Express. He went 5-19 with three runs, two RBIs, three walks, one home run, and six strikeouts.

OF – Jonathan Ornelas – Round Rock Express

Jonathan Ornelas played in five of the six games this week. He went 8-21 with three runs, two RBIs, one walk and two strikeouts.

RHP – Jack Leiter – Round Rock Express

Jack Leiter had a less-than-stellar outing this week, pitching for only 1.2 innings, giving up five hits, six runs (all earned), four walks, and striking out only one.

RHP – Cole Winn – Round Rock Express

Cole Winn seems to have gotten some of his mojo back. He pitched a total of five innings of relief across two games, allowing only two hits and striking out three.

INF – Cameron Cauley – Hickory Crawdads

Cameron Cauley appeared in all six scheduled games this week. He went 7-27 with five runs, three RBIs, two walks and ten strikeouts.
