Both teams are two games back from the Cubs. St. Louis is 6-4 in their last ten games. They start a three-game series with the Milwaukee Brewers tonight, with the first 6:45 PM CDT. Kyle Leahy will face Chad Patrick in game one at Busch Stadium. Ahead of tonight’s game, the St. Louis Cardinals have announced two roster moves as they recall an infielder and send a struggling outfielder back to Triple-A.

Cesar Prieto

The St. Louis Cardinals have recalled second baseman Cesar Prieto from the Memphis Redbirds. Prieto received six at-bats for the Cardinals last season, recording one hit during that time. This year in Triple-A, he has played in 19 games with a .311/.357/.566 slash line. Prieto has seven doubles, one triple, six home runs, and 14 RBI this year for Memphis.

Thomas Saggese

The Cardinals have optioned outfielder Thomas Saggese to Triple-A today ahead of their game with the Brewers. Saggese has played in 18 games for the Cardinals this season with a .170/.228/.208 slash line. He has two doubles and two RBI this season. Saggese has struck out 19 times and has only walked four times.
