The St. Louis Cardinals will start a three-game series against the Cleveland Guardians tonight. They’re coming off a series loss to the Boston Red Sox over the weekend. They’re 3-2 in their last five games, averaging four runs per game while allowing five runs per game. Ahead of tonight’s game, they designated left-handed pitcher Jared Shuster for assignment. To take his spot, they recalled right-handed pitcher Ryan Fernandez from Triple-A Memphis. They also were returned right-handed pitcher Cade Winquest from the New York Yankees.
